Recording Package

Full Track (music and vocals) and Mixing: $750.00 per song.
A full song includes the arranging, production and recording of music, lead and back-up vocals, as well as final mixing. If you're interested in having your own live musicians play in your songs, they may be recorded at the studio at no extra charge. Otherwise, we have relationships with excellent musicians in the Houston area that share our vision to make great music for an affordable price for $75.00 per song per player. This is an extremely reasonable costs in comparison to most studio musicians. If you choose not to have live musicians play on your songs, our producers will arrange and produce/sequence all music parts digitally at no extra costs.

Note: Licensing Pre-recorded Tracks:
Unfortunately, it's difficult to get permission to record the original performance tracks of artists that you can find at a karaoke store or at a local Christian bookstore. Generally, they are only intended for use in a live performance situation. If you're interested in recording vocals over those pre-recorded tracks, you will need to get permission from the record company and most likely pay a fee to use that track. By the time you pay those fees, that is, if you're even granted permission, it is advantageous to record new music tracks for that given song so that you may use it as you desire.

Mechanical Licenses:

Also, please note that if you do plan on recording and selling other artists songs, you are required to pay for a mechanical license which is usually available through the Harryfox Agency (www.harryfox.com), or through the publisher themselves. This ensures the that the songwriters and publishers receive their royalties. The statutory rate per song is 8.5 cents per album manufactured, not sold. So, for example, if you record 10 published songs of other artists and you manufacture 1000 copies, you'll need to budget $850 in mechanical license fees at the time of manufacturing. Manufacturing companies require proof of licensing before a project can be manufactured. Naturally, if you record original material that you have written yourself, you don't have to pay these fees.

Whether you record your own or another person's song, the music will still need to be arranged, produced, and recorded. The final mix will be given to you on a compact disc after you've paid in full.

Record Vocals Only and Final Mixing: $475.00 per song.
This option applies when you bring the music or instrumental track of the song already pre-recorded and simply wish to record vocals only and then have the song final mixed.

Final Mixing Only: $250.00 per song.
This option is available to those who bring the music and vocals that have been pre-recorded at another studio and only wish to have them final mixed.

Your package will include the following:

  • Our state of the art recording studio based in Houston, TX (Travel not included).
  • Our Producer and Engineer.
  • All studio time. (Studio time varies and prices are charged either on a flat rate per project or on an hourly basis.)
  • Final mixing and editing.
  • Two master copies of the final mix on CD.
(One personal copy - Second copy sent to duplictor for manufactoring.)
  • Total package cost vary and can be discussed on an individual basis.

DEMO CD (Including pre-recorded tracks):

For a four-five song demo album, with pre-recorded tracks brought in by the artist, we usually recommend at least three to four days of recording; the first two days being used for vocals and the third and possibly fourth days used for final mixing. Typically we allow two to four hours of recording time per song (8 - 16 hours total for 4 songs depending on each individual artist), so the total hours suggested can be calculated depending on the number of songs you would like to record. If tracks are being recorded as well, we would suggest doubling the time allotted to complete the project.

Full - Length CD (Including pre-recorded tracks):

For a full - length album, with pre-recorded tracks brought in by the artist, studio time will vary depending on the number of songs recorded and the time required by the artist.

All time-frames are negotiable and depend on each individual artist. A fifty-percent (50%) deposit is required prior to recording to hold the studio and guarantee studio time. The remaining costs must be received prior to receiving the final master copies.
